The Kansas City Missouri School District is continuing its program to help provide coats and other clothing items to needy students.

The Coats for Kids program runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the district's Parent Resource Center at 1215 E. Truman Road.

Students or parents with proper identification can come in and get coats and other items for every member of the family, organizers said.

Coats for Kids is in its fifth year and recently expanded to include school uniforms and other basic necessities.

Organizers said that by helping to provide students with clothes, the students can have one less thing to worry about and can better focus on their studies.

Anyone wishing to donate to the program can write a check to the Kansas City Missouri School District in care of Irene Von Collins. They can be mailed to the Parent Resource Center, 1215 E. Truman Road, Kansas City, Mo., 64106.
