If you are using fruit juice or carrot juice, leave the clothing in the dye for about 24 hours after submersion. Then, take the clothing out of the dye and hang it upside down for another 24 hours to let the excess
dye run off and dry. Slowly remove the twine and untwist the clothing. If there s still some dampness, lie the items flat to dry, so as not to cause the dye to run. If you are using the dyes from the outside links, use the instructions mentioned for each specific dye.

Parents educated on keeping kids out of gangs - msnbc.com

Posted: 26 Aug 2010 09:16 AM PDT

Steve Crupi reporting

Come Monday, hundreds of thousands of local kids will be back in school. But whats to prevent them from enrolling in gang activity as well?

Detective Tony Morales is with the Gang Crimes Bureau.

Hes leading the push to educate everyone, especially parents, that theres no recession when it comes to gang crimes in Las Vegas.

In fact, there are currently more than 500 local gangs, all looking for young recruits.

Former gang member Christian Ochoa was among the speakers at a special forum Monday night. He discussed some of the obvious signs that should signal parents that their children are mixed up with a gang.

"Clothes - they got them sagging down with the color shorts they got under their pants. Sometimes their grades plummet."

According to police, gang members in Las Vegas have also gone high-tech with their recruitment.

"From MySpace to Facebook, it's a business to these kids."

Throughout the school year, additional anti-gang talks will be scheduled at school campuses with the hope of keeping kids in class and out of trouble.

Last week, federal agents raided multiple locations and arrested 35 suspected gang members or gang associates here in Las Vegas.  Police say most are illegal immigrants who are active in local street gangs.

They now face various drug, weapons, and assault charges.
